50 artificial solar eclipses in 2025!

In December 2025 ESA published short summary of Proba-3 performance in 2025. This mission and its instruments have successfully completed commissioning and started to deliver real scientific data from solar eclipses achieved thanks to precision formation flying of two Proba-3 spacecrafts.

Below video shows results of combined data from observations performed by  3 different spacecrafts at the same time (Proba-2, SOHO and Proba-3). Solar corona was colorised based on the data origin:

As you can see data coming from ASPIICS fills the gap in solar observation capabilities.

You will also notice that during this particular eclipse, team managed to capture CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) event. Such observation requires hours of stable formation and data flow acquisition which was performed by ASPIICS CCB managed by on-board software delivered by N7 Space.
